We collect the following information:

• Account info: email address, username
• Phone number: mobile number in E.164 format, if you opt in to SMS alerts
• Prediction data: your price predictions, timestamps, results
• Halt activity: halts you viewed, symbols you follow, watchlist selections
• Chat messages: content you post in halt chat rooms
• Usage data: pages visited, features used
• Push notification subscriptions: browser push endpoint (if you opt in)

2. How We Use Your Data

• To provide and improve the Service
• To display your predictions on the leaderboard (username only)
• To show your prediction badge in chat rooms
• To send push notifications about stock halts (if opted in)
• To send SMS text message alerts about stock halts (if opted in)
• To send email alerts and recaps (if opted in)
• To compute aggregate statistics (community sentiment, accuracy rankings)
• To prevent abuse and enforce community guidelines

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. Your data is used exclusively to operate and improve HaltPredict.

3. Data Storage & Security

• Data is stored on Supabase (hosted on AWS)
• Authentication is handled by Supabase Auth
• API communications are encrypted via HTTPS
• We use row-level security to protect user data

4. Data Sharing

• We do NOT sell your personal data
• Your username and prediction accuracy are publicly visible on the leaderboard
• Your chat messages are visible to other users in the same halt room
• We may share anonymized, aggregated data for research purposes
• We may disclose data if required by law

5. Push Notifications

• You can opt in/out at any time via the notification bell
• We store your browser push subscription endpoint
• Notifications are sent only for stock halt alerts
• Unsubscribing removes your push data from our servers

6. SMS / Text Message Data

If you opt in to SMS alerts, we collect and store your mobile phone number solely to deliver stock halt alert messages.

• Your phone number is used only for sending HaltPredict halt alerts and verification messages
• Your phone number is never sold, rented, or shared with third parties for marketing or any other purpose
• SMS messages are sent via Twilio, our telecommunications provider, which processes your number solely to deliver messages on our behalf
• We log message delivery records (timestamp, symbol, delivery status) for rate limiting and troubleshooting
• You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message, or by disabling SMS in your settings
• Message frequency varies based on market activity and your chosen alert threshold (typically 0–20 messages per trading day)
• Message and data rates may apply

7. Cookies & Local Storage

• We use Supabase auth tokens stored in local storage for session management
• We do not use third-party tracking cookies
• We do not serve ads

8. Your Rights & Data Deletion

• Access your data: view your predictions at /my-predictions
• Delete your account and all data: email ericv@haltpredict.com and we will permanently delete your account, predictions, phone number, and all associated data within 30 days
• Opt out of SMS: reply STOP to any text message, or disable SMS in settings
• Opt out of push notifications: click the notification bell
• Opt out of email: click unsubscribe in any email or update settings
• Export your data: email ericv@haltpredict.com

9. Children's Privacy

HaltPredict is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy at any time. We will notify users of material changes via email or in-app notification.
